Virtual Equipment Secure Interactive Documents System –The VES siDocsTM provides a single source to all pertinent information associated with complex equipment when developing maintenance procedures, 3D parts ordering catalogs, training programs and marketing materials. It can contain 3D procedures, PDF documents, videos and any other information all bundled into one self contained package. The viewer is easily configured by the user to appear as a maintenance package, a parts catalog, a complete training program or a complete sales and marketing package. In addition, all information in the viewer information package is encrypted and can only be read by the Secure Viewer. Further levels of security include password protection and validation against a security server that provides for complete protection of the company’s Intellectual Property (IP). The VES siDocsTM allows your company to distribute any important information to your customers without the risk of the data being copied or distributed to non-registered users.
The VES siDocsTM is comprised of two components, the siDocs Enabler and the siDocs CPMS.
siDocs Enabler – The Enabler is user interface to the information package created by CPMS.
siDocs CPMS – Content Packaging Management System – The CPMS is used to configure the Enabler and bundle all of the information required for a secure package. It allows the user to design the content of the screen layout and add all of the information that is required in the package. This would include 3D materials, videos, PDF documents and any other types of data. The entire package is then encrypted with 128 bit encryption so that it can only be viewed by the VES-Enabler. CPMS adds all of the security required by a company, including passwords and the capability to validate the user and owner of the information package back to a security server.
Pre-packaged Configurations
Virtual Equipment Manual – VE-siManual – This configuration can show all of the maintenance procedures for a piece of equipment. It allows the user to interact with a 3D model of the equipment in order to get familiarized with the equipment. The user can then observe the interactive maintenance procedures and practice those procedures on the 3D model.
Virtual Equipment Trainer – VE-siTrainer – This configuration uses 3D equipment simulations to allow students to explore the equipment and to observe and practice tasks using a 3D virtual model of the equipment, whether in the classroom, at home or in the field. Interaction with the virtual model allows students to achieve a much higher understanding of maintenance or repair procedures. Audio can be easily added to remove any language barriers. VE-siTrainer allows for “just in time” training.
The Test section in VE-siTrainer allows companies to develop competency training programs around the equipment simulations. The test results can be passed to a Learning Management System (LMS) using SCROM standards.
Virtual Equipment Parts Ordering – VE-siOrder – This configuration provides a 3D visual index for effectively identifying specific parts in a complex piece of equipment and retrieving critical parts ordering information. An interactive 3D model of the equipment allows service personnel to quickly identify a specific part and link it to a parts ordering system, inventory system, MRO system or any other Product Lifecycle Management system.
The capabilities of siManual can be easily added to siOrder thus combining maintenance procedures and parts ordering into a one touch system for the end user.
Virtual Equipment Brochure – VE-siBrochure – This configuration helps companies develop more compelling sales presentations using interactive 3D equipment simulations. The siBrochure can include interactive 3D models, videos, standard marketing brochures and other materials that would present a better marketing package to the prospective buyer. siBrochure provides for unsurpassed interactivity with virtual equipment enabling users to rotate, move and zoom, cross section and view parts in context of the over all assembly.
Using high quality 3D graphics to replace text, siBrochure improves knowledge transfer, reduces language barriers and facilitates shorter global product rollout times.
VES-One Touch VIP – A complete self contained system that includes 3D maintenance procedures, all support information manuals along with a 3D parts ordering system (Virtual Identification of Parts). This system is designed to be included as a complete documentation package for a piece of equipment. It does not require any installation of software and runs directly off a memory stick.
